Program Includes:

30 Hours of Classroom Instruction

Classroom instruction includes textbooks, instructor-led lectures, videos, and guest speakers
Curriculum is based on the Louisiana Class E Driving Manual

8 Hours of Private Behind-the-Wheel Instruction

Four 2-hour driving sessions
Students begin in a parking lot for initial skill assessment, then progress through a structured, confidence-building lesson plan

State Written Test

The written test is given at the end of the classroom course. A minimum score of 80% is required to pass. Students who do not pass may retake the test after completing their behind-the-wheel training.

A parent or legal guardian is required to attend a mandatory parent orientation prior to the start of the course. This class is for students ages 14 years and 9 months through 17 years old.
